"As, I put my beautiful white daisies in this vase I am thinking about Mr. Bruce Powell. We spent 2 ½ hours this past afternoon with a very delightful man, this Mr. Bruce Powell. He explained everything in detail about the hearing process and what my husband has been missing these last 1 ½ years without a hearing aid. "I was having trouble hearing normal conversations among family and friends. Many times I had to ask people to repeat what was being said. Because of the reactions of family and friends I did not contribute to conversations since many times my responses were incorrect, causing much merriment, as what I thought I heard and what was actually said were vastly different. I convinced myself that they were not speaking clearly even what my family tried to tell I wasn't hearing well.

The event that convinced me to seek testing was when a group of people were talking about hearing a dog bark but which I could not hear. Several times they said it had barked but I still had heard nothing. Another time I thought my husband was asking me about the closed captioning option on the TV when in reality he had told me that he had already put the cats outside. When my husband and I arrived at your office we were treated with courtesy and friendliness. The Specialist asked my husband to come into the office during the testing process. The testing was done professionally and every step explained. Hearing aids were used to demonstrate what improvement I could anticipate.

The instruments recommended and fitted are not visible except upon close observation. The Specialist made sure the instruments fit properly, making adjustments as needed at my monthly visits. As for impacting my future, I can now interact with family and friends with more ease and less embarrassment when I am in family gatherings, in church or at meetings I am able to hear what is being said without having to ask the person next to me what has been said.

I would recommend Hearing Healthcare to anyone who is having hearing problems either in individual interaction or in group settings. Also, if friends and family are telling someone they need their hearing checked – you should believe them. Being able to hear more clearly will convince you to participate in more public events."

"Before I came to Hearing Healthcare of Virginia I was adversely affected more and more as time went on. My wife was particularly distressed by the loudness of the TV and our conversations requiring repetition of everything said. I could not help realizing my need for more effective hearing. "I have had hearing problems for the last 25 years. My hearing loss is in both ears and caused by nerve damage. The hearing aids I was wearing at the time weren't functioning well enough so that I could perform my job the way I would have liked to. "My hearing loss came about gradually and I became aware that I was having to ask people to repeat themselves in order to understand what they were saying. Then it got to the point where I would have to ask them to speak louder, and I would put my hand up to my best ear in order to hear what people were saying.
